E-Learning & Fjord's Mountain Mission

Snow Safety Online Course

£35 (reduced from £50 until 30th April 2026)

Length: 45 minutes.

Caroline is a respected leader in snow safety awareness. With over 20 years of front-line experience in ski patrol rescue, avalanche control, and avalanche rescue dog handling in France, she brings unmatched insight and practical knowledge to this course.  Designed for recreational skiers, her program offers a clear, engaging, and deeply informed approach to understanding and staying safe in the winter resorts.

You’ll learn how to:

  • Prepare before you travel: conditions, kit, route planning, and the risks people often miss.
  • Stay safe on the piste: awareness, behaviour, and the simple habits that keep everyone out of trouble.
  • Respond when things go wrong: calm, clear actions for common incidents and emergencies.
  • Understand avalanche risk: what causes them, how to spot danger signs, and how to reduce your exposure.
  • Stay safe after slope closure: what changes, what catches people out, and how to protect yourself.

Short, punchy, and packed with practical know-how. Ideal for anyone heading into snowy terrain and wanting to feel fully prepared rather than just hopeful.

Mountains have always loomed large in my life.

While awe inspiring, mountains also demand respect as there are potential real dangers for those with a lack of knowledge, understanding and training.

I have slowly gathered all my snow adventures together along with precious memories of my incredible avalanche dog, Fjord. Little by little, I created this book for children, a fun, interactive way to stay safe in the winter resorts.

I want everyone to feel the deep joy I have felt there, but I also want everyone to be safe. I don’t have all the answers and neither does this book; it is through based on tried and tested knowledge from years of experience working in the mountains.

Use this book as a starting point to find your own way safely through the snowy mountains.

Fjord, my much-missed faithful companion.
